Heart Change 05:12
What have my eyes seen, who have I become There's a darkness inside me I'd wish on no one I thought that I was free, but these changes are still holding me There's no one I can blame, I claim this bed I've made I've run from you so many times Thinking that I could find greater joy It's all a lie I know you are the only one who can remove this heart of stone So take my eyes and fix them upon you I need a heart change, I need a heart change Penetrate the depths of my soul I need the real thing, not the american dream Of choosing the world and still having you I need a heart change to see the truth All that I have said, my heart was far from it I looked like I believed, my life has been deceit I've run from you, I've run from you I need a heart change, I need a heart change Penetrate the depths of my soul I need the real thing, not the american dream Of choosing the world and still having you I need a heart change to see the truth Even when my heart is pulled by the world's enticing ways I will look to your truth, I will trust in your ways Even when my heart is stirred by the things that you hate I will look to your truth, I will trust in your ways
2.
Just because I can, doesn't mean I should I lay aside my pride for the sake of a brothers life It might be good, is it right Yes I am free, but where will I draw the line Just because I can, doesn't mean I should I lay aside my pride for the sake of a brothers life It might be good, is it right Yes I am free, but where will I draw the line I try to justify my liberty Am I becoming what your against In my defense of this liberty Have mercy, I'm a mess Tear down these obstacles I've built up Will you rid me of my flesh Remind my heart again of your truth Let it show through all this mess
3.
I feel the push and I feel the pull Such a heavy weight, such a heavy weight The waves they do rise, then they do fall Such a heavy weight, such a heavy weight But it's not on my shoulders anymore I've been bought by your blood Lord I am yours No longer a slave to sin I am safe in your sovereign hands I can rejoice even through pain You have shown me grace, You have shown me grace My heart it deceives, but I've been made new You have shown me grace, You have shown me grace It's all on your shoulders forevermore I've been bought by your blood Lord I am yours No longer a slave to sin I am safe in your sovereign hands I'm safe in your hands
4.
Anything that's hidden will be made known Man can kill my body, not my soul I am not ashamed I will proclaim Jesus Christ is King Jesus Christ is King My life is hidden in Christ alone Why would I fear man, I'll make it known I am not ashamed I will proclaim Jesus Christ is King Jesus Christ is King Man can kill my body, not my soul Why would I fear man, I'll make it known I am not ashamed I will proclaim Jesus Christ is King Jesus Christ is King Jesus Christ is King Jesus Christ is King

about

A sojourner is a person who resides temporarily in a place. If we are in Christ, our hope is not in this life and this is surely not our home. In this temporary life we deal with the weight of our sin, doubt, and sorrow. And although we do find bits of joy throughout, all is temporary outside of the joy that we find in Christ alone. He is our hope and salvation, in Him we have eternal life. One day we will be rid of the sorrows and temporary joys of this place and we will see Him in all His glory. What a day that will be! Until then, we run this race, looking to Christ to sanctify us through all life's ever-winding turns, knowing that we have a greater hope than what we can see. Christ is our hope, our everlasting joy, and our King.

This 4-Song EP deals with our journey over the past couple years of Christ sanctifying us and enlightening the eyes of our heart to sins in our life and the truth of His never changing word. Our hope is that through these 4 songs you will be stirred to look to Christ alone and rest in Him.
